The Office (-2/366)

Step into my office...I got somethin' to show you.

Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a rum girl. I don't drink alot, but when I do, 99.9% chance, it's rum. You'd be amazed how mind-numbing-ly, tongue-tingling, toe-curling, oh-dear-my YUMMY Diet Cherry Coke & coconut rum are when ya throw them in a glass together.

Anyway, it was only fitting when my brother gave me a big bottle of this savory liquid for Christmas. The day after, he handed me a tiny bottle of Malibu Black as a "day after Christmas, because it wasn't ready to give you *on* Christmas" present. His original plan was to find a small glass box, and a itsy bitsy hammer to go with. He couldn't, so he settled for giving it with the good intentions, instead.

The Office

I work at a small family owned business, with my father, 3 brothers, a few family friends that are more family then friends. There's plenty of benefits to working with family...flexible schedules, understanding of my single mom status when one of my kids texts, calls, or drags me to the doctor's. But, there are challenges too...who makes coffee, who is the boss when Dad isn't here, who left the multi-gender bathroom's toilet seat up. Did I mention I'm the only girl? Thankfully, I'm the oldest sibling so I at least have 3 little brothers I can beat on when the frustrations get to be overwhelming! And, because Dad raised them so well, they can't hit back...hahaha
This is why it's perfectly understandable, and funny in my little corner of the wholesale tire sales world, that my stash of office supplies now includes a mini bottle of fun, or sanity, depending on what day it finally gets opened. :)

Meet Bruno (-3/366)

Meet Bruno.
Bruno, the Dish Fairy Dog

This is the unofficial first photo in my 366, actually more like -3/366, aka a prequel. Taken last night, in front of my kitchen sink, very full with dirty dishes. Welcome to my life!

And yea...it's heartbreaking for those who hate dishes as much as I, but he isn't *really* a dish fairy. He isn't even *really* a dog...le sigh

What he is? A very cute beanie puppy who will be helping me with my 366 now and again. He isn't even mine. He used to be, but my now-12 yr old daughter kinda "borrowed" him way back when on a sad night. Yesterday, I had to ask to borrow him back...haha

The best part about it? When I stuff him in my camera bag and bring him along for the day, I don't have to worry about fleas, a leash, or toting around a plastic bag for poop. Score!

366 Puzzle Pieces

Hi! I'm pretty bad at introductions, so this will be really quick.

My name is Jennifer. I'm a mom, amateur photographer, and aspiring super-hero. Yes, I even want the cape. I live in Central New York, it's currently snowing, and I'm craving brandy with eggnog. I have a Canon T2i that needs some love, a cat that needs a diet, and four kids that need dinner. Which reminds me, I'm out of milk.

I work as an office administrator for a small family owned business, and drive a rusting out minivan that hasn't had a bath in months because the window doesn't go up all the way. It's ok..the kids enjoy using it as a canvas. I think they'll be sad when the fingerprints are all gone.

I'm going to attempt a 365 project. I've pondered it for a very long time, years in fact. Always managed to talk myself out of it. That's kinda what I'm famous for..reminding myself how imperfect the results of any attempts at any goals will most likely be, and considering all the obstacles, and then BAM! Goal changed to something less daunting. Kinda non-conducive to self-improvement, home improvement, organization, or anything else for that matter. My wonderful boyfriend asks me all the time how long it's going to take for me to talk myself out of whatever wonderfully grand idea I've bubbled about that day. I laugh, say I'm not gonna do THAT..sheesh...and then, I do. LOL

So, here it is...the beginning of my 365...errrr, 366. It's a leap year, did ya know? And it will (hopefully) represent my life, as it is, one puzzle piece at a time.

Enjoy the ride!
